My name is Radouane, and I was born and raised in Imlil, the heart of the High Atlas Mountains — a place many call the small Chamonix of Morocco.
These mountains are not just where I live; they are where I learned everything I know. They shaped my childhood, my career, and the vision behind Talamrout Summit.
This is the story of how a single mountain — Talamrout Summit — became the foundation of my guiding life and eventually inspired the name of my website.
Growing Up in the Mountains of Imlil
I come from a family deeply rooted in mountain traditions.
For generations, my relatives have worked as:
Mountain guides
Muleteers (mule drivers)
Cooks (cuisiniers) on trekking expeditions
And local hosts supporting hikers and explorers
I grew up watching my father and uncles prepare mules, guide trekkers, cook traditional meals, and lead people safely through the High Atlas.
From an early age, I walked those same trails, learned the valleys, studied the weather, and understood what it means to care for guests in the mountains.
Guiding is not a job I chose.
It’s the life I was born into.
Where the Name “Talamrout Summit” Comes From
Before I built a website, before I offered multi-day tours, and before I became known for mountain biking or ski touring, my guiding journey began with one mountain:
Talamrout Summit.
This summit is close to my heart.
It is the first mountain I ever guided professionally, the one that showed me how much people love the High Atlas, and the place where my idea for Talamrout Summit was born.
The Beginning: My First Adventure on Airbnb Experiences
Before building Talamrout Summit, I launched this hike on Airbnb Experiences, where it became one of the most popular nature-and-culture day hikes from Marrakech.
Over 200 summits, 5⭐ reviews, and guests from all around the world.
It was designed for travelers who wanted to:

My focus was clear and very different from many mainstream tours:
