Detailed Itinerary (5–6 Days)

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Tazaghart Refuge (3000m)

Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (1740m), followed by a steady ascent through scenic mountain trails to Tazaghart Refuge.

  • Elevation gain: approximately 1250m

  • Walking time: 5 to 6 hours

Overnight at Tazaghart Refuge, known for its quiet atmosphere and panoramic views.

Day 2: Summit Bouignoussen (4002m)

The first major summit of the expedition. A demanding but important acclimatization day.

  • Elevation gain/loss: +1000m / -1000m

  • Walking time: 7 to 8 hours

Return to Tazaghart Refuge for a second overnight.

Day 3: Afella (4043m) and Akioud (4030m) – Toubkal Area (3200m)

A challenging day involving two summits. The route includes sections of scrambling and requires strong physical condition.

  • Elevation gain: approximately +1100m

  • Descent: -900m

  • Walking time: 8 to 9 hours

Akioud can be skipped if necessary depending on group condition. Descent toward the Toubkal refuge area for overnight (refuge or camp).

Day 4: Ouanoukrim Peaks (4083m and 4089m)

Ascent of Ras Ouanoukrim and Timzguida n’Ouanoukrim via a scenic ridge offering expansive views across the High Atlas.

  • Elevation gain/loss: +900m / -900m

  • Walking time: 6 to 7 hours

Return to the refuge or camp for overnight.

Day 5: Mount Toubkal (4167m) – Imlil – Marrakech

Early departure for the ascent of Mount Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa.

  • Descent: -2500m

  • Walking time: 8 to 10 hours

Descent to Imlil followed by transfer back to Marrakech.
