Trek Overview : Trek Overview Duration: 6 days / 5 nights Start & End Point: Marrakech Max Altitude: 4,167m (Toubkal summit) Difficulty: Challenging Best Season: May–October (summer trekking) Accommodation: Mountain refuges, guesthouses, and camping Itinerary Day 1: Marrakech → Imlil (1,740m) → Tachedirt (2,300m) Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (1.5 hrs). Begin trekking through the Imenane Valley, passing Berber villages and terraced fields before arriving in Tachedirt, one of the highest villages in the Atlas. Overnight in a guesthouse. Walking time: 5 hrs. Day 2: Tachedirt → Tizi Likemt Pass (3,555m) → Azib Likemt (2,250m) A tough but rewarding day as you climb the Tizi Likemt Pass with sweeping mountain views. Descend into the high grazing lands of Azib Likemt. Overnight in camp. Walking time: 6–7 hrs. Day 3: Azib Likemt → Tizi n’Ourai Pass (3,120m) → Amsouzart (1,740m) Follow the Ourai River, cross another scenic pass, and descend to the remote village of Amsouzart. Overnight in a guesthouse with traditional Amazigh hospitality. Walking time: 6 hrs. Day 4: Amsouzart → Ifni Lake (2,295m) A gradual climb brings you to the turquoise Ifni Lake, dramatically set among steep peaks. Afternoon at leisure to relax by the lake. Camp near the water’s edge. Walking time: 4–5 hrs. Day 5: Ifni Lake → Tizi n’Ouanoums Pass (3,664m) → Toubkal Refuge (3,207m) A steep and rocky ascent to the Ouanoums Pass, overlooking Ifni Lake, then a descent to the Toubkal Refuge. Dinner and overnight at refuge. Walking time: 6 hrs. Day 6: Toubkal Refuge → Toubkal Summit (4,167m) → Imlil → Marrakech An early start for the climb to the summit of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Enjoy sunrise views stretching from the High Atlas to the Sahara Desert. Descend to Imlil and transfer back to Marrakech. Walking time: 8–9 hrs.
